About Jon P. Amodeo

John Amodeo at workThe real story behind Amodeo Music is the owner, Jon P. Amodeo. Jon is an accomplished musician who plays multiple instruments. Utilizing his arranging, composition and engineering skills, he is the reason people come from all over for his talent and expertise.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Jon Amodeo was introduced to the piano and guitar at an early age. By the time he was 12 he was performing in outdoor concerts all over New York in a band funded by the NYC Police Athletic League.

He added woodwinds to his repertoire in high school. He attended William Paterson University where he benefited from the renowned jazz department and the mentorship of jazz great Thad Jones and many others. After receiving a Batchelor of Arts in Music and a New Jersey State Teacher Certification, Jon performed in a number of different bands, from local jazz clubs as well as in concerts at colleges and universities. He began writing radio jingles ranging from local malls to The Home Depot, AT&T and General Motors.

As composing became more of a passion, he began writing popular music as well as production music. He also became experienced in studio work. This became quite successful as he could show up at the session with the ability to lay down tracks on the many instruments he plays as well as performing on vocals, which is quite unusual.

He then set out to build a state-of-the-art recording studio designed for music production. This is where Amodeo Music found its home.

In his studio, Jon arranged and produced music for publishers, producers, songwriters and artists from the NY/NJ area while collaborating with fine musicians and singers. His talents can be heard on a large number of musical productions.

His next challenge became writing music for television and radio commercials. He currently tops the list with music airing on national commercials and worldwide commercials such as Sears, The George Foreman Grill, ESPN, The History Channel, and many others. He has written music for exhibits at the Newark Museum , Yogi Berra's Hall of Fame, and his theme for the Garson Crebbs Comedy Show is heard daily on National Public Radio and on satellite radio. He has composed music for the World Aids Foundation satellite broadcasts worldwide.

Jon still enjoys teaching others what he has learned. His clients leave his studio with knowledge they can carry with them throughout their future projects.

"Teaching was always my favorite and most satisfying vocation.. Nothing brings more gratification than passing on knowledge to others. My passion becomes their passion." - Jon Amodeo

Jon is the founder of Kids Rule Songs for which he writes and produces personalized songs at no charge for children stricken with illness; aiming to bring them joy and comfort as they deal with their medical challenges. He has donated music to many children's funds and hospitals, including Tomorrow's Children.

Today, with his music heard worldwide, he continues to write and arrange for many venues and is always excited about his next musical project.
